About Maia Newman

For over 34 years, I’ve helped individuals and couples move through challenges and rediscover deeper connection, presence, and compassion. My clients often come to me after other approaches haven’t worked, and together we quickly get to the heart of what needs to shift.

My style is both intuitive and practical. I draw from many modalities—including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Insight-Oriented Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness—to create a path that’s tailored to each person. Whether we’re untangling relationship patterns or healing your relationship with yourself, my goal is to help dissolve blocks and open space for lasting growth.

As a longtime meditator and yoga practitioner, I integrate mind, body, and spirit with the latest discoveries in neuropsychology. I am deeply influenced by teachers such as Jack Kornfield, Eckhart Tolle, and Dr. Joe Dispenza. Clients tell me they feel instantly comfortable, seen, and inspired toward change.

Based in Marin County, California, I work with clients locally and across the country. In addition to my private practice, I spent eight years in a women’s chemical dependency treatment facility, where I provided direct care and also trained and supervised interns.

Outside of my work, I treasure time with family and the restorative beauty of nature.

As a listener, Maia is relaxed and open, focused and attentive, and her ability to recall details from many months ago often surprises me. What this means is my time with Maia moves positively forward and does not stagnate. Time spent with Maia is truly my time, and it is treated and respected as being valuable.
